He found this site on accident, and while lacking taste in some areas, supports the existence of articles and sites that contradict his own view, because the beauty of a free society is that one can hold whatever views they wish, so long as those beliefs don't actively infringe upon the liberty and life of anyone else.
He finds it
interesting hilarious that a site dedicated to trustworthy, reliable articles is inherently biased towards the conservative, Christian perspective on the world, with most articles related to conservative ideals written in a way that praises them as the "right" ideals, and showing other ideals as wrong.
He also notes that Conservative_bias as an article doesn't exist and has been repeatedly deleted while an article dedicated to Liberal_bias exists with a comment in the lead-off to the article stating that The essence of liberal bias is to dismiss or even to censor opposing views. Apparently, they've never heard of the Horseshoe theory.
"Over time, any sentence uttered long and loud enough becomes fixed. Becomes a truth. Provided, of course, you can outlast the dissent and silence your opponents. But should you succeed – and remove all challengers – then what remains is, by default, now true.
Is it truth in some objective sense? No. But how does one ever achieve an objective point of view? The answer is you don't. It is literally, physically impossible. There are too many variables. Too many fields and formulae to consider. We can try, of course. We can inch closer and closer to a revelation. But we'll never reach it." -Altair Ibn-La'Ahad
He also believes that Gay Marriage should be a nonissue. If the United States Government wants to regulate marriage as the only legally binding relationship between two people, and that marriage confers upon the couple special benefits that people can not enjoy when they are not legally wed, then marriage rights must also extend to homosexuals, bisexuals, etc under the Equal Protection clause.
If, however, marriage is something only religious establishments should handle, then any civil union between consenting adults should be recognized across the country and offered by all States and the Federal Government with the same rights that those in a traditional marriage enjoy, because the government is not permitted to endorse the practices of any particular religion and impose said practices on the citizens of the United States against their will. Freedom of religion includes freedom FROM religion.
