My name is Joel C. Salomon, and I am a politically-conservative Orthodox Jew. I intend to add an authentic Jewish perspective to some Conservapedia articles as I get to them.

As per the Talmud, Sanhedrin 63b; Maimonides, Hilchos Avodah Zarah 5:11; and Beis Yosef, Yoreh Deah 147, I do not use dates or places pertaining to other religions as landmarks. I therefore prefer to use the Jewish calendar; when I use the Gregorian calendar I would much rather refer to years in the Common Era (CE) or before it (BCE).
