Material

My reasoning for removing the material was that it essentially just recaps what is said in the history section of the main article, Israel, rendering it superfluous. However keeping it is fine too if you think it preferable, as long as the link to the main article remains. --HenryB 21:10, 1 November 2008 (EDT)
