I wouldn't say that a liberal like me won't last long here, because I make it a point to carefully craft my contributions on irrefutable fact, and reference them when necessary. Besides, you misunderestimate my primary purpose here; I'm not here just to contribute, I'm a sociologist. I'm here to study the arguments that occur when there are edit wars over content. You see, I carefully document the language used by the liberals and the conservatives, and I'm looking for specific instances of educational stratification among other things. I like to examine the way people make their arguments. Today I was watching CNN, and there was a really great article on these two black labs the US Army is sending to Iraq to help with troop stress. (On a side note, I think this shows a great commitment to troop welfare BTW). But, what I found disturbing was that the SSgt who was speaking said "The dog has a natural uncanny way of reducing stress. It's kind of a magical thing. And huma- uh, Americans are dog lovers." One can only assume that he was about to say that humans like dogs, but for some reason felt it necessary to change the language and differentiate between humans and Americans. I'm not going to speculate at this point as to what he could have meant, or why he changed it, just point out that the distinction was made. Don't you find that sort of language interesting? If you find these linguistic nuances interesting, perhaps you'll consider reading Noam Chomsky, he's a linguist you know.
