Hi Jules,
About Dylan's Christianity, my sense from all sources is that it has not diminished in any way, though the poetic anguish may have intensified. As the poet Gerard Manly Hopkins, one of the finest poets of faith I know, once wrote, "O Comforter, where is thy Comfort?" This may sound pessimistic on the surface, but comes I think out of the agony of faith experienced by many.
