Original version of Bach article

I should have asked you about this earlier. I was concerned about the original version of the article, because it said:

Johann Sebastian Bach was a Baroque composer of Classical Music. He was well-known for his mastery of counterpoint, renowned as an organist and harpsichordist, and even gave his approval to an early model of the piano. Some of his most famous works are the Brandenburg concertos, the Well-Tempered Clavier, the St. Mark Passion, a Mass in C Minor, and the Diabelli Variations. He often used the cruciform B-A-C-H motif in his works.

There are several serious mistakes here and I wondered if you could tell me more of how you happened to write it and where you got your information.

Bach's famous Passions are the St. Matthew Passion and the St. John Passion is very well known. His music for the St. Mark passion was lost. In the year 2000, celebrating the 250th anniversary of his death, an attempt was made to reconstruct it. It got very mixed reviews and the reconstruction seems to be regarded as a curiosity, not an important work.

Bach's famous Mass is in B Minor, not C Minor. I don't believe he wrote any "Mass in C Minor" at all. There is an extremely famous Mass in C Minor, but it's by Mozart, not Bach.

The Diabelli Variations are by Beethoven.

I was trying to merge this article with another one. The other one contained a mixture of valid information and obvious misinformation and jokes. The impact of seeing three errors in a row actually made me wonder whether this article could be a prank or a hoax. What happened?
