VLC Media Player is open-source software created by the Video LAN organization. VLC stands for "VideoLAN Client" though it is now known best as "VLC Media Player." It can play audio and video files and CDs/DVDs, stream video from a specified internet source, record sounds from videos, and more. This program is provided free of charge for any purpose.

The Authors

VLC media Player is developed and supported by volunteers. The VideoLAN board is composed of Jean-Baptiste Kempf (President), Felix Paul Kühne (Treasurer), and Hugo Beauzée-Luyssen (Secretary).[1]

Usage

VLC Media player is fairly easy to use, but does offer advanced options if you know how to use them. In general, all you need to do is select a medial source, and click play. However, if you want to use more advanced options, explore the menus and buttons. To make extended usage easier, there are also a number of keyboard shortcuts you may want to familiarize yourself with.
