Venom is any biotoxin used by an animal for defense or hunting. Usually it is injected into the blood stream through a hallow fang like in snakes or a protrusion on the abdomen called a stinger common to many insects. There are many types of venom including: hemotoxins, neurotoxin, mycotoxin, and phototoxin. Many of these can be deadly to humans without the administration of anti-venom.
