Westmorland and Furness Council

Westmorland and Furness Council is the unitary authority responsible for the council area Westmorland and Furness, which forms a part of the statistical region North West England. It covers the entirety of the county Westmorland as well as Furness and Cartmel, both exclaves and peninsulas of Lancashire, although the name is somewhat misleading; the council area also covers an area of Cumberland around Penrith and an area of Yorkshire around Sedbergh. The Administrative HQ for the council is at Kendal.

The southern and eastern parts of the Lake District National Park are within the domain of Westmorland and Furness Council.
