Iris Xiomara Castro Sarmiento (born 30 September 1959) is the current leftist president of Honduras. She held office at 27 January 2022, she is wife of former president Manuel Zelaya. Unlike neighbor country El Salvador, the crime rate under her rule is still high.[1]
