Yoon Suk-yeol, also spelled Yoon Seok-yeol, was elected president of South Korea in March 2022, as the conservative populist leader of the new People’s Power Party.
After meeting President Joe Biden on September 21, 2022, during which Joe Biden pledged $6 billion in American aid to the Global Fund purportedly to fight HIV, tuberculosis, and malaria, Suk-yeol was caught in a hot mic saying in Korean, "It would be so humiliating for Biden if these idiots don't pass it in Congress."[1]
