You Say (Christian song)

You Say is a Christian song by Lauren Daigle, released in 2018.

To say it was a smash hit is a bit of an understatement, given the following:

• Its debut on the Christian Airplay chart at #22 (the week of July 21, 2018) was the highest non-holiday release by a female soloist in eight years.
• At the same time it would debut at #33 on the Hot Christian Songs chart; the debut would be the first of its 160-week stay on the charts, second-most of all time.
• The following week it would jump to #1 on the Hot Christian Songs chart, making it Daigle's third #1 song. The 32-place jump remains the biggest jump of any song on that chart's history. It would also be the first of what would be a record-setting 132 weeks at #1 (more than double the song with the next most weeks at #1). (It also made #1 on the Christian Airplay chart for 17 weeks, tied for sixth-most all time.)
• Rare for a Christian song, it peaked at #29 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, #5 on the Billboard Adult Top 40 chart, and also charted on secular charts in numerous countries including China.
• It was the second-biggest Christian song of 2018, and the biggest of both 2019 and 2020.
• It won the 2019 Grammy for Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song, the 2019 Billboard Music Award for Best Christian Song, and the 2019 GMA Dove Award for Song of the Year.
