Allegheny College is a private liberal arts college located in Northwest Pennsylvania. It was founded in 1815.

In August 2008, James H. Mullen Jr. became the 21st president of Allegheny.[2]

When selecting a location to film the movie Been Down So Long It Looks Like Up to Me, Cornell University no longer looked like a 1950s campus, so the film was shot at the more conservative Allegheny College instead.[3]
