In informal internet terminology, a sockpuppet or sock is an alternate account of an Internet user who already uses one user ID to log onto a site, thus using multiple accounts. The second account acts much like a sockpuppet does, controlled by the puppeteer while appearing to be different. For Conservapedia rules on sockpuppet accounts, see Conservapedia:Sockpuppets.
