Vietnamese escape to the US embassy as the Vietcong take over the city.
Ho Chi Minh City or Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh (formerly Saigon or Sài Gòn) Is the largest city in Vietnam and known as Pearl of the Orient.[1] Ho Chi Minh City is located near the South China Sea, and is currently the capital of Vietnam[2] It is named after Communist revolutionary and dictator, Ho Chi Minh. Ho Chi Minh City has 8,190,775 inhabitants.[3]
Ho Chi Minh City played an important role during the Vietnam War. The US embassy of Saigon was attacked by the Viet Cong on January 31, 1968.[4] 1975 the Communists took the control over the city.
Vietnam is a country in Southeast Asia, bordered by China to the north, Laos and Cambodia to the west, and the Pacific Ocean to the east and south. [5]
