Super Sentai

Super Sentai is a genre of Japanese superhero tokusatsu television programs. As opposed to shows such as Kamen Rider, which have only around 1-2 riders per series, Super Sentai usually has 3-5 members on a team. The first two shows, Himitsu Sentai Goranger and J.A.K.Q. Dengekitai were not considered part of the Super Sentai canon until 1995. The term "Super" Sentai refers to the team having a giant robot. In 1993, the series was brought to the United States as Power Rangers.
