Ohio is located in the Midwestern region of the United States and on March 1st, 1803 became the seventeenth state to enter into the union. During the American Civil War Iowa supported the United States. The capital of Ohio is Columbus which is also its largest city. The current governor of Ohio is Ted Strickland, a Democrat.
