The SRWare Iron web browser is based on the Chromium engine, but is designed with privacy in mind, unlike Google Chrome. Iron was released on September 18th, 2008[1] but although it claimed to be open-source, the source code for it was not originally accessible. However, the code has since benn released, so Iron is now open-source
Benefits
Iron Avoids creating a unique ID for its users, does not report activity history to its publisher (or anyone else), includes a built-in ad-blocker, and more. However, the Chromium engine is still sound, so for people who find Chromium or Google Chrome to be right for them, Iron is a good alternative.
System Requirements
Operating system must be: Windows XP or later, Mac OS 10.7 or later, Debian, Red Hat Linux, or another Linux system.
