Template:Epoch dated from 248 million years ago to 203 million years ago. After the Permian and before the Jurassic period. The super continent Pangea supposedly started to break up during this period.
According to evolutionary theory this period saw the emergence of pterosaurs, mammals, turtles, and frogs.
