Zoe Lofgren (born December 21, 1947) is the very liberal United States Representative for the 19th congressional district of California based in San Jose. She is a member of the Democratic Party. From 1995 to 2013, she represented California's 16th district. Lofgren was chair of the House Ethics Committee from 2009 to 2011. She supports more immigration.
She strongly supports gun control and was one of 17 members of Congress who filed amicus curiae briefs in favor of gun control in the Supreme Court case of D.C. v. Heller.[1][2]
