Dinosaur media in modern slang refers refers to the mainstream free-to-air and pay tv television news channels, newspapers and magazines.
Basically it's a critical term for those media outlets that are considered traditional but are rapidly being made obsolete by more neutral news (bloggers, alternative online news channels).
The phrase has gained popularity as traditional media sources shrink and lay off staff.
