Mikhail Kalashnikov, born in Russia in 1919, invented one of the most influential weapon in history, the AK-47.  Since its invention in 1947, the AK-47 has been used by nearly every terrorist organization in the world.  It can be recognized by almost everyone on earth, and it is the dominate weapon on the planet.  The AK-47 has arguably more influential in the last 50 years of world history than the atomic bomb.  In the cold war, the two countries that were in fear of a nuclear fallout was the U.S. and the U.S.S.R., but the rest of the world was fearful of the AK-47, including China, which had and still has more population than both Russia and the U.S. combined.
