Kenneth T. 'Ken' Cuccinelli II (born July 30, 1968) was the Republican candidate for the governor of Virginia in 2013. A former Virginia State Senator, Cuccineli was elected Attorney General of Virginia in the 2009 election. While Cuccinelli was in the Virginia Senate, he served on the Senate Courts of Justice Committee, Transportation Committee, Local Government Committee, and the Rehabilitation and Social Services Committee.
After Cuccinelli left office, he took a position at FreedomWorks Foundation, which has roots with a Koch brothers' entity. Cuccinelli then began supporting the Convention of States favored by the Kochs, despite how Cuccinelli had previously observed that such a convention cannot be limited in its scope. Cuccinelli was also part of the anti-Trump movement at the Republican National Convention in July 2016 in Cleveland.
