A sandwich (or "butty") is the name given to a popular lunchtime food consisting of a filling (such as meat or cheese), sandwiched between two pieces of bread. Condiments such as mayonnaise, ketchup, and mustard are commonly used to add extra flavour to the sandwich. The beauty of the sandwich is that the possibilities for fillings are almost endless and that the bread keeps one from getting the filling on one's hands allowing them to be eaten anywhere.
