Comment:  By no means have I seen proof of this, neither grounds to rule it out.  If it were one person doing a hit, that would not be a "conspiracy."  Against this hypothesis would be that Seth was shot in the torso (back), but not in the head, thus not ensuring his death.  However, if it be true that Seth was shot at 4:19, then shots were immediately reported by ShotSpotter to the cops, & the cops were on scene by 4:20AM; one could understand that a murderer might flee without ensuring that Seth were dead.  (Were the cops at 4:19 only a block or 2 away, heard the shots directly, got the ShotSpotter report immediately, & turned on their sirens?) One still wonders that if it were a hit, why didn't the shooter go ahead & immediately put a 3rd shot into Seth's head?  Did the gun jam? Stovepipe misfeed -- but why haven't we seen the police report on the ballistics, semi-automatic pistol or revolver? -- In favor of this hypothesis would be  that Seth told his girl friend on the phone "not to worry" & hung up; this suggests that Seth knew the person(s) approaching him.  If it had been muggers approaching, you would think he would have told his girl friend & left his cell phone on.  Of course it is possible that he abruptly hung up, intending to call 911, but did not have time.  (Thunkful2 (talk) 16:03, 21 May 2017 (EDT))

:If the gunman were paid or instructed, that would be conspiracy. A second party need not be present. The gunman had to act on his own volition not to be a conspiracy. Secondly, about a 3rd shot "to finish the job," so to speak. Even if it were a professional, paid hit, there's no assurance of quality. It could have been a gunman's first job acting alone, and inexperience and nervousness would have to be considered a factor. ::Human beings can be unpredictable in emotional situations and when sinning greatly as in murder, so I don't rule out the hit hypothesis altogether.  But it is worth noting that it would have taken a shooter 1 more second to finish the job with a head shot. Just as it would have taken a robber 1 more second to grab a gold chain!  However, if you just shot someone you never wanted to shoot, you might not want the cops to catch you with something stolen from the victim. ::I think this hypothesis was put for by anti-Trump Republican lobbyist Jack Burkman.  For this hypothesis you may consult "Tracy Beanz" on YouTube, who has a valuable presentation of the Seth Rich story.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HFrCCXKfWXo  Also see YouTube FFRnews where there are 3 videos in a series, the 3rd having the Burkman hypothesis.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QMlt9RvoapM

:::In July, 2017, Jack Burkman came out with the theory that Seth Rich took his DNC downloaded emails and transferred them to Natalia Veselnitskaya, Russian lawyer, who to me seems very likely working for the Russian government.  So Burkman eventually combined the Seth Rich Leak theory with the Russians-Done-It theory.  IMHO this would make a terrific novel, but is really off the wall.  Natalia Veselnitskaya is the same (fem fatal? Mata Hary?) with whom Donald Trump, Jr., had a brief meeting, for which the MSM / liberals would like to crucify him & his father.  (Thunkful2 (talk) 00:29, 3 August 2017 (EDT))
