Josiah Robins Bonner, Jr., known as Jo Bonner (born November 19, 1959 (age 66), is a Republican who represented the 1st District of Alabama in the United States House of Representatives from 2003 to 2013. He resigned the seat to become vice chancellor at the University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa.
Bonner has a solidly conservative record in the House. He has voted with a majority of his Republican colleagues 86.6% of the time during the current Congress.[1]
Bonner was succeeded in his House seat by fellow Republican Bradley Byrne, who defeated a primary field that included the conservative journalist Quin Hillyer.
