Gideons International is an international, non-profit interdenominational Christian organization which spreads the Word of God, usually by placing King James Bibles or English Standard Version Bibles in hotel rooms and institutions (including hospitals, schools, and correctional facilities). The Gideons first started putting Bibles in hotel rooms in 1908, and since that time have placed 1,400,000,000 (1.4 billion) of them.[1]
