Paleoclimatology is a scientific study dealing with the climate in the geologic past, along with the causes and effects of climatic conditions. A paleoclimatologist studies these geologic climatic conditions, which are reconstructed on the basis of evidence found in glacial deposits, fossils, sediments, and rock and ice cores.
