Victor Klemperer (1881-1960) was Professor of French Literature at Dresden University. In 1935, after Nazis introduced their policy of gleichschaltung, he was removed from his university post as a Jew, only surviving owing to his marriage to an Aryan.[1]

He is famous for his book LTI: Lingua Tertii Imperii (translated into English as The Language of the Third Reich)[2] that was first published in 1957.[1] There in, he portrays how artificially devised language of the Third Reich helped to create its own twisted culture and stresses out the importance of avoiding such way of thinking: It isn't only Nazi actions that have to vanish, but also the Nazi cast of mind, the typical Nazi way of thinking, and its breeding ground: the language of Nazism.
