USB A is the most common type of Universal Serial Bus (Universal Serial Bus) connector. It is quickly becoming the most common connector used by and for computers. It has largely replaced PS/2 and serial ports for keyboards and mice, DIN connectors, game controllers ports, and serial printer ports.[1] It has also made FireWire nearly obsolete.

- External Removable Drive Readers (DVD, CD, Zip, Floppy, etc.)
- Human Interface Devices (Keyboards, mice, etc.)

- Wired Internet Cards (Ethernet)
- Phone Chargers
- Comfort Items (Keyboard Lights, Fans, etc.)
- USB A to USB B Converters (typically used for USB hubs and printers)
