Town of Greece v. Galloway is a 2014 SCOTUS case that upheld the town's practice of holding prayer before the work of the legislature begins. The court noted:
- There is historical precedent for the practice of opening local legislative meetings with prayer as well. Marsh teaches that the Establishment Clause must be interpreted “by reference to historical practices and understandings.”
