Sergeant Brandon Mendoza was an American police officer who was killed by an illegal alien on May 12, 2014. While driving home after work, he was hit in a head-on collision by Raul Corona-Silva, a previously arrested[1] illegal alien who was driving on the wrong side of the highway three times the speed limit and high on meth.
Legacy
Having been a strongly positive influence on his community, Mendoza has the Mendoza Thanksgiving Dinner re-named in honor of his service. In addition, a softball tournament was held on November 7, 2015 to honor Mendoza.
