Spock is a fictional character from the television series [[Star Trek] who was a human/Vulcan hybrid. He has pointed ears and like most Vulcans he is known for his near total repression of his own emotions.
Spock was played by actor Leonard Nimoy.
Benjamin Spock (1903-1998), often referred to as "Dr. Spock," was a pediatrician who wrote the 1946 book Baby and Child Care. It emphasized self-reliance (the opening sentence is "Trust yourself. You know more than you think you do"), and encouraged mothers to act on their natural instincts to touch and cuddle infants.
