John "Babbacombe" Lee (1864 - March 19, 1945), known as "The Man They Couldn't Hang" due to surviving 3 hanging attempts.
Execution
On February 23, 1885, at Exeter Prison, the execution staff attempted to hang him 3 times, all attempts failed.
