Eric Leroy Adams was elected mayor of New York City as a Democrat in 2021. The last Republican elected mayor of New York in response to a Democrat mega-crime wave was in 1993.
Adams is a retired police captain and Brooklyn borough president. Adams famously called white NYPD officers "crackers" in 2019.[2][3] In the 2021 New York City Democrat mayoral primary, Adams allegedly dismissed calls to defund the police.[4]
As mayor, one of his first acts was to persuade New Yorkers to become "plant-based" eaters.[5] Adams boasts of not eating Oreos or drinking Coca-Cola.[6] Controversy erupted when Adams was spotted eating fish,[7] which is not plant-based; as of 2022, Adams has remained silent on the globalist agenda to convert the planet over to insect-eating.[8]
