Kari Lake is a 51-year-old Republican candidate for governor of Arizona in 2022, and a former newscaster in Phoenix for Fox 10 News. She left the network due to its leftwing bias and anti-liberty coverage of the coronavirus issue.[1] Even liberals admit that she has "the Trump-style charisma."[2]

Pro-Trump, she far outshined a conservative crowd in Phoenix on July 24, 2021 and pledged that if elected she would:[2]

“ pardon every person and business owner who is charged for violating a mask mandate or refusing to shut down their business — because we know that breathing and earning a living are not a crime. ”

Governor's race

Kari Lake is considered the frontrunner. Other leading GOP candidates include:[3]

  • Steve Gaynor, businessman and 2018 GOP Secretary of State nominee
  • Karrin Taylor Robson, a former member of the Arizona Board of Regents, which runs Arizona's three public universities
  • Matt Salmon, a former congressman and 2002 GOP gubernatorial nominee
  • Kimberly Yee, the State Treasurer and a former state legislator

Lake has more name recognition than her rivals, due to having been a television news anchor on Fox in Phoenix market for more than 20 years.[4]
