Beer water use is incredibly wasteful. An estimated 55-80 times as much water is wasted for every drop of water included in a beer product. Moreover, beer dehydrates the consumer such he needs additional water just to get back to where he should be.

Anheuser-Busch (now the Belgium InBev) built a massive beer manufacturing facility in the Van Nuys, a superb of Los Angeles where water is very scarce. Built in 1954, this facility consumes 5 million gallons of water a day from a source in Owens Valley (where L.A. gets much of its water), using the same taxpayer-subsidized aqueduct relied on by L.A.[1]
