The T-72 is a Soviet-designed main battle tank (MBT) that has existed since the early 1970s. Updated version; T-72B3 in 2016, gave the tank reactive to tank explosives. This tank is capable of firing guided missiles, and is equipped with a powerful new engine, automatic transmission and digital display.
Russian MBTs can be quickly and conveniently snorkeled for safe underwater operation—giving them the rare ability to traverse riverbeds.[1] Most Western tanks don’t readily have this ability. Some have tested it, or have the ‘theoretical’ means, but it’s usually a far more involved and uncertain process, requiring lengthier modifications, and not something they train for or keep as standard operating procedure.
