Ulster consists of the six counties of Northern Ireland and three counties of the Republic of Ireland. It has a population of a little under two million people. Protestants/ British Unionists in Northern Ireland often use the term Ulster as shorthand for Northern Ireland - the protest movement against the 1985 Anglo Irish Agreement used the slogan "Ulster Says No".
