Ray Charles was a black musician who was also blind. He wrote a lot of ragtime and blues songs, including "But You Don't Know Me" and "Shake your Tailfeather". In the 1980s, Ray Charles appeared with a large group of celebrities (even though some of them weren't as famous as he was) to promote World Peace with the song "We Are the World".
The Westboro Baptist Church has been sued for remaking that song using new lyrics inspired by God.[1]
