Adrian M. Fenty (born December 6, 1970) is a former mayor of the District of Columbia. He attended Oberlin College in Ohio before earning a Juris Doctorate from the historically black Howard University Law School in Washington, D.C. Fenty took office in January 2007.
“I think even the mayor will admit that the schools have been so neglected that we're really talking about peanuts in terms of making them look like we want to educate children.”
Fenty is married to Michelle Fenty; they have twin sons Matthew and Andrew, and a daughter Aerin.
Fenty is also a long-distance runner and regularly takes part in triathlons.
