The 2024 Rochdale by-election took place on 29 February 2024, following the death of Rochdale's MP Sir Tony Lloyd the month prior.
George Galloway won the contest with almost 40% of the vote, with the independent David Tully finishing a distant second with only 21%. Much of Galloway's support came from courting the large Muslim community there with his pro-Palestine views.
