The M1 tank is one of the stupidest projects the United States ever embarked on from 1963 to 2024.
Where do we begin explaining why? How about the fact that it runs on jet fuel, which means jet fuel storage tanks, a prime military target, have to be built near the battlefield and the jet fuel has to be specially transported in.
The Russians & Soviets might have been stupid, in a political sense, but nowhere near as stupid in an operational and military planning sense as the United States Congress which funded the project, and the Pentagon have proven themselves to be for more than half a century.
