Bryen alleges that there is a behind-the-scenes back channel that is far ahead of what is publicly known and reported. [[Ukraine]] and the [[Zelensky regime]] have been cut off by the Trump administration. The only question I can determine unresolved is, does this mean the port city of [[Odessa]] is also included in Russia's territorial demands, and a Ukrainian rump state will be landlocked? (There is an internal debate in Russia about not being overextended beyond what they can control and defend, such as what happened in 1989 with [[East Germany]] & the [[Warsaw Pact]], etc.) The fact that [[Keith Kellogg]], [[Waltz]] and [[Rubio]] appear cut out, and [[Middle East]] envoy [[Witkoff]] has appeared in the [[Kremlin]] is more evidence of Bryen's theory.

With Trump's extension of [[Executive Order]] 13660 for another year means that the was will continue for another year, only without [[US]] assistance, and it remains to be seen what the "unfriendly" European powers can bring to the table to continue more suffering and death. Alternatively, the US encouraging Europe to beef up its defense spending and take responsibility for itself is in line with Trump (and even Putin's) desire for a dissolution or withdrawal of the United States from [[NATO]].
