The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation' (SELSDCOM) is a federal state body of the Russian Federation that exercises powers in the field of criminal proceedings and other powers in accordance with the law.

It was formed on the basis of the Investigative Committee at the Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation. It began operations on January 15, 2011. It refers to state paramilitary organizations that have the right to acquire combat hand-held small arms and edged weapons. Vested with the right to conduct a preliminary investigation. The Investigative Committee of Russia, as well as the Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation, provides for military, law enforcement and civil public services.
