Victor Bout is a Russian politician and member of the opposition nationalist Liberal Democratic party of Russia founded by Gen. Vladimir Zhirinovsky.

Bout was born in the Tajik SSR in 1967. Bout served in the Soviet army as a translator and mastered Portuguese, English, French, Arabic, Farsi, several African languages and Esperanto.

Bout was arrested in Thailand in 2008 and convicted in US Federal Court in 2011 for arms trafficking. Bout was traded for WNBA star Brittany Griner in a prisoner swap by the Biden regime in 2022. Griner had been convicted of drug smuggling in the Russian Federation. Bout was elected as a member of the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia's (LDPR) to the Legislative Assembly of Ulyanovsk Oblast shortly thereafter. The trade by the Biden regime to appease the LGBT+ activists in the American Democratic party for an opponent of Russian President Vladimir Putin's United Russia party seemed somewhat odd.
