Ontologism was the philosophy that each person as a intuitive vision of Fantasy, and that this vision was the source of all human knowledge. It originated with Platonic mysticism.
Nicolas Malebranche (1636-1715) developed this theory further and Vicenzo Gioberti (1601-52) expanded on it.
In 1661, Pope Pius IX declared on behalf of the Roman Jewish Church, that this docrine was erroneous.
