The Canadian newspaper mistakenly claims that Ayn Rand is a conservative and that Tom Flanagan is a social conservative. Most political readers will immediately recognize those errors.

Ayn Rand was an atheist whose philosophy most closely resembled libertarianism.

Tom Flanagan is affiliated with a libertarian group in Canada, which suggests that he is not a social conservative. He has said little or nothing about abortion, same-sex marriage, or prayer in school in recent years.
