Bushism is the term coined by liberals to refer to what they regard as incoherent, mispronounced, or idiotic words or phrases stated by George W. Bush. Bushisms include the mangling of the English language, atrocious violations of grammar rules, and other bastardizations.

The implication is that Bush mangles the language significantly more than other politicians. The truth is more likely that the liberal media gleefully collect and publicize his verbal gaffes disproportionately.

Some examples:

  • "You teach a child to read, and he or her will be able to pass a literacy test." - February 2001
  • "Our enemies will stop at nothing to harm our people and our country, and neither will we." - August 2004
  • "We had a chance to visit with Teresa Nelson who's a parent, and a mom or a dad."- September 2003
  • "Is our children learning?" -
