Huddersfield is a town in West Yorkshire, England in the United Kingdom.
It is located in the Pennines.
It is the birthplace of Harold Wilson Prime Minister of the United Kingdom 1964-1970 and 1974-76.
Despite its economy being based on sheep's wool, after the colonization of Northern Canada and the resultant fur trade, Huddersfield became noted as a major center for the production of fur coats. This coincided with a decline in the cotton industry in the city and the closure of several factories which produced cotton undergarments. This is still the case today with many commentators noting that Edinburgh is "Aw furs an nae knickers".
